I had a cyst drained -- not sure of the technical name for it. I was put under general anesthesia, and the doc aspirated the cyst with a needle. It was totally painless, took about an hour, and I was back at work the next day. We waited a month for it to go away while I was on the Lupron (suppression) phase of an IVF cycle. It didn't shrink at all during that time. We didn't want to hold up the IVF cycle any longer, and I couldn't stay on the suppression drugs any longer without compromising the cycle, so we went with the needle aspiration.
